The Arbour Lake Renovation was completed for well-loved and repeat clients. Ten years prior, we were brought in to renovate the main floor of this home.
In 2022, a decade later, the clients brought us on for a full redesign of their basement. We completely gutted the space including reconfiguring the large Jack and Jill bath into two separate ensuites. We created a large gathering space and beautiful bar area with integrated appliances. We incorporated a great deal of natural and tactile materials, woods and stones to bring in the outdoor feeling and added a glass backsplash at the bar to reflect the natural light and colors of the lake from the windows across. We wanted a comfortable and casual space that allowed for guests to seamlessly flow from the interior to the exterior.
As with many renovations, the scope of the project continued to increase into the upper floor. Many aspects of the kitchen were original to the home, predating our prior renovation. We overhauled the kitchen with a new look while maintaining the lower cabinets and island stone which the clients loved. We refreshed most finishes throughout including refinishing the floors. Much of the furniture was custom designed by our team originally and we were able to breathe new life into it by recovering it. The primary bedroom received a full makeover to complete the project.
With many key quality items being maintained from our first renovation, this project was a beautiful example of the importance of sourcing and designing quality pieces that can be reinvented as opposed to replaced.
